2. Main Results
This section examines the performance of public security policy observing the presence of the phenomenon of victimization and criminality in the State of Mato Grosso in the years 2009 and 2010, and its variation in each region. Such information is presented in Tables 1 and 2.
The evaluation matrix, summarized in Table 1, allows us to examine (i) the overall performance of each region, in 2010, expressed in the Victimization and Public Safety Index and the corresponding categorical status (columns IX and X) as well as (ii) the performance of the region in each selected indicator (examining each line in columns II to VIII). Performance analysis of the region will be the subject of section 2.1. The evaluation matrix also allows us to examine (iii) the performance of individual standard indicators for each region (examining the columns). The analysis of performance indicators that compose the matrix will be the subject of section 2.2.
Similarly, Table 2 allows us to examine (i) the evolution of the phenomenon of victimization and criminality in each region, expressed in the Variation Index (column IX); ii) the performance of regions in terms of an improvement or worsening of each indicator (examining each line in columns II to VIII) and (iii) variations of each indicator for each region (by examining the columns). The analysis of regional performance will be the subject of section 2.1. The analysis of indicators' performance that compose the array will be the subject of section 2.2.
