Roundtable on FAU-MARANHÃO released a book about São Paulo

“SÃO PAULO: NOVOS PERCURSOS E ATORES, Sociedade, cultura e política” (São Paulo: new pathways and actors, society, culture and politics), organized by Lúcio Kowarick and Eduardo Marques, was released on Thursday, December 8.

São Paulo novos percursos e atoresThe work aims to trace the transformations of social and spatial characteristics of the metropolis, displacing and replacing social inequalities in an environment of increasing diversity, "New York: New Routes and Actors, society, culture and politics" is organized by Lúcio Kowarick and Eduardo Marques and was released with a roundtable. Attending the event the architect, professor and researcher and coordinator of the Colección Ciudades from OLACCHI (Ecuador) Fernando Carrión Mena, and the organizers of the book, Lúcio Kowarick, political scientist and professor of the Department of Political Science at USP and Eduardo Marques, political scientist, fellow researcher of the CEM and professor of the Department of Political Science at USP.

The book is the result of an editorial partnership between the Center for Metropolitan Studies (CEM) and Publisher 34.

At the roundtable the lecturers presented the main points discussed in the book, as well as other publications in the series Ciudades of OLACCHI Collection (Organización Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Centros Históricos), which includes comprehensive studies on other Latin American cities, Bogota, Buenos Aires , Santiago, Lima and Mexico.
