CMS (Center for Metropolitan Studies - Centro de Estudos Metropolitanos) has just launched a new series of working papers -- Textos para Discussão. The institution was granted an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) to identifye its series worldwide. ISSN works as a parameter for indexing scientific serial publications.

Some advantages of having ISSN:

• It is broadly used by libraries to identifye and process bibliographical references of serial publications.

• It is specially useful to organize, recover and transmit data on serial publications.

• Publications with an ISSN are listed at ISSN International Center, in Paris.
