Prof. Marc Fleurbaey presents the International Panel on Social Progress report at CEM

Professor at Princeton University, Marc Fleurbaey is the rapporteur of the IPSP Report and the Manifesto for Social Progress.

The Centro de Estudos da Metrópole (CEM-Cepid) is honored to receive Prof. Marc Fleurbaey, coordinator of the Management Committee of the International Panel on Social Progress (IPSP). On the 24th of June, Prof. Fleurbaey will give a lecture about the IPSP Report and the Manifesto for Social Progress. Prof. Fleurbaey's lecture will be follow by the première of the film: “A New Society” (USA, 2018, Wilma’s Wish Productions, 60 min., with Portuguese subtitles), a documentary film about the work and ideas of the IPSP directed by journalist Sofie Wolthers. The documentary streaming will be followed by a Q&A session.

Prof. Fleurbaey is Robert E. Kuenne Professor of Economics and Humanistic Studies at Princeton University. The lecture will be in English. Questions and comments can be presented after the talk.

The IPSP gets together hundreds of experts on inequalilty issues. Reports aim at contributing to frame programs and policies addressing the fight of inequality and the promotion of social justice. Its first congress was held in 2015, at Istambul, Turkey. Currently, the IPSP reports and recommendations are worldwide acknowledged as a reference.
