In the seminar part of the 2017 CEM Methodological Series, Davi Cordeiro Moreira (Doctorate in Political Science from the University of São Paulo) will address “Text as data: Challenges and opportunities for Social Sciences” in which he maintains that recent technological and scientific advances allow Automated analysis of large document databases. Accompanying the frontier of this process, the challenges faced for the analysis of more than 127,000 speeches given by Brazilian federal deputies between the years of 1999 and 2014 were presented.
