Methodology for identifying urban precarious settlements
The methodology developed at the Center for Metropolitan Studies for the transfer of knowledge to the Ministry of Cities in identifying slums is now available on the CEM website (the book published in 2007 can also be downloaded from the CEM website). The systematization aims to assist the development of similar analyses, particularly those conducted by using data from the 2010 Census.
The project encompassed the development and the application of a methodology for the calculation of estimates and the development of cartographies for substandard and precarious sectors in intra-urban spaces, regarding both their qualification and their quantification. The publication along with the methodology can be freely accessed on the CEM website.
