Tool is focused on the production of special analyzes from demographic, economic and social data
It's already in the CEM website the updated version of the software version TerraView Social Policy, developed by INPE for the Center. Since 2007 a partnership between CEM and the Division of Image Processing at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE-DPI) made the software available to visitors.
The partnership's main focus is to attract to the use of GIS tools new researchers, technicians municipal administration, undergraduate and postgraduate, among others, introducing them to insights into the importance of the production of spatial analysis and interpretations about social reality of our urban areas. The main new features that the update brings are:
- The possibility of adding new plug-ins or new tools that can be built up and inserted in the new TerraView Social Policy;
- Improvements in the use of various tools such as the inclusion of limits from other cartographic databases for the generation of spheres of influence as the Voronoi;
- Facilities for obtaining and translating data from several different data plans;
- Import and export of cartographic databases as .kml that enable the data visualization in Google Earth program increasing forms of display bases built on both platforms;
- Integration with several new sorts of files from digital cartographic databases, in particular: wcs .wfs and wms, that are in fast development and provide greater integration of producing communities of free web cartography;
- The inclusion of plug-in "estimator proportionality area", exclusive of TVSP, which quickly and accurately estimates the proportion of a population with non-traditional urban clippings, usually from the IBGE census tract;
- The new visual standard TerraView Social Policy program;
- The new version of the course Introduction to GIS with TerraView Social Policy, updated the book (soon), examples and introducing new features.
With the increasing supply of digital cartographic data bases, both in the CEM page, as the Web, the new version of TerraView Social Policy 4.2.2 expands the opportunities to work with many different types of cartographic files, made easy performances and outcomes throughout the various researches.
The GIS software TerraView Social Policy 4.2.2 is freely available on the CEM website (GIS area).
