CEM international workshop discusses urban injustices
The Center for Metropolitan Studies (CEM-Cepid/Fapesp) is promoting on February 13, 14 and 15, in São Paulo, the workshop "Urban Injustices: Normative Ideas and Practices". Starting every day at 9 am (Brasília time), it will be held in English, in mixed modality. In person, the meetings will take place in the auditorium of the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (Cebrap), in Vila Mariana, São Paulo, and will be broadcast live online through CEM's YouTube channel. Interdisciplinary, the event has the participation of national and foreign researchers. Entries must be made by February 8th, by e-mail email@example.com or by the event's official website.
This interdisciplinary workshop seeks to establish a forum for novel academic debates by associating concepts and theories in contemporary political philosophy with empirical claims raised by groups that suffer urban injustices and with normative justifications for fairer and more egalitarian cities. The event will address ongoing discussions on urban injustices in Brazil and in other countries and pursue methodological gains for theoretical research on urban studies and public policymaking.
